Join us for a no-fluff, tell-it-like-it-is 4-part Zoom workshop designed to help you prepare for the realities of the L.A. industry before you pack your bags. Led by a seasoned industry pro, this course offers practical tools, honest insights, and real-world advice on how to build a sustainable acting career in Hollywood’s competitive landscape. Whether you're fresh out of school or shifting gears from another market, this is your chance to get clear-eyed guidance on what it really takes to make it in LA. Course Overview: Session 1: Money Talk Budgeting for your move and the early months. A breakdown of L.A. neighborhoods, cost of living, and how working actors support themselves. Session 2: The Nuts & Bolts of the Industry An overview of casting platforms, agents/managers, unions (SAG-AFTRA, AEA), and how to navigate self-taping and submissions in today’s landscape. Session 3: Building Creative Community Where to find quality acting classes, how to meet your people, tips on teaching yourself production skills, and getting plugged into the indie scene. Session 4: The Life Cycle of an Early-Career Role Follow the journey of a booked job from audition to on-set experience to what comes after and how to make the most of every opportunity. Perfect for actors of all levels thinking about moving to Los Angeles. About Steve: Steve Fisher is an actor, improviser, and writer based in Los Angeles. Originally from New York City, he caught the acting bug pretty early on in life and has been enjoying its delirium-inducing symptoms ever since. Steve attended the University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts (USC). Additionally, he's worked as an apprentice at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, trained at Upright Citizens Brigade, the Antaeus Company, Actor's Comedy Studio, and spent a spring studying acting in London at the British American Dramatic Academy. Steve is a company member at the prestigious Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga and a proud member of an organization called Young Storytellers, which runs various stellar programs that teach kids of all ages how to write for the stage and screen. Steve's on-screen credits include AJ & The Queen, The Middle, NCIS: Los Angeles, and his award-winning short film Good Help Is So Hard to Find.
